Snakes in Vodka?

I saw this story on the news yesterday and decided to write about it. A rattlesnake rancher in Texas thought it was a good idea to put a rattlesnake in a bottle of vodka and try to sell it as "ancient Asian elixir." The rancher surrendered to the police and is facing charges for selling liquor without a license. He could face up to a year in jail and $1,000 in fines. What are people thinking?

ApriPoko Robot

Toshiba has come up with an interactive robot that acts as a virtual remote control. It's name is ApriPoko. Any behavior you do like changing the channel on the tv, it will ask you "what did you just do?" Then you would say I just changed the channel on the tv to channel 401. The robot will remember that and next time you want to change the channel you just say that and the robot will do it for you. It uses inferred technology to program to different electronic devices. I think it would be awesome to have around the house!

The buyer is the owner of a trivia web stie and now the owner wants to add the cornflake to a traveling museum. The sellers of the cornflake are going to use the money on a family vacation. It's insane that people will buy anything these days.

Bluetooth Headsets

I think if people are going to talk on their cell phones while driving they should atleast have a bluetooth headset on. The prices of them have gone down over the years and I think they are definitely worth it. Almost all cell phones these days have bluetooth capability so you probably don't even need to buy a new phone. A lot of the car acciedents across the US are related to people using thier cell phones and driving recklessly. I don't think we could completley solve this problem, but I think we can deminish it.

Star Wars

George Lucas has done it again. Another Star Wars movie for the sci-fi fanatics. This time it will be animated. The new flim Star Wars: The Clone Wars is going to be released August 15th and will feature a female Jedi who is Anakin's young apprentice. Personally I'm not really into Star Wars, but many people who are might find this interesting. The most I've ever done is watch all six movies, but I was lost the whole time as to what was going on.

Having Defibrillators in Schools

When someone goes into cardiac arrest, their heart starts to quiver and they need shocked immediately, or they'll die. Calling 911 and waiting 5-10 minutes (in most cases) for paramedics isn't enough. This is where automated external defibrillators (AED's) come into play. Having these in and around schools is cruical to the life of the students. If someone goes into cardiac arrest in a phys. ed. class the teacher could save that students life by using an AED. I think this would be a wise decision for all schools to invest in AED's. For every minute a person is in cardiac arrest, their chance of survival decreases 10%.

Gamers in Germany

I read an article about video gamers in Germany that I found interesting. Even with PS3, Wii and XBOX360 out, up until recent, gamers in Germany relied on their computer to game. I thought this was interesting because Europe is almost always ahead of the US in the technology boom. Sales for game consoles have gone up 21 percent and PC games have gone down 3 percent. Like the US, Germans have been into gaming on their mobile devices all along with sales up for those 65 percent.

Hybrid Car Reviews

Some of the best cars avaliable are the newest hybrid vehicles. Getting between 27 and 46 mpg depending on the size of the vehicle, that's not bad. The smallest hybrid is the Toyota Prius getting 46 mpg and the largest hybrid truck, the Toyota Highlander gets 27 mpg. The list tops off with the Toyota Camery getting 34 mpg for best mid-sized sedan, the Saturn Aura Green Line getting 25% better gas mileage than the gas version is the best family sedan, and the Saturn Vue Green Line with 32 mpg is the best compact hybrid SUV. With gas prices going up, not down, I would definitely think of getting a hybrid.

Human Body: Pushing the Limits

Human Body: Pushing the Limits is a new tv series on the Discovery Channel. The show is all about how the body works together in extreme situations. The show is going to consists of stories about how a person can lose 14 pounds by swimming the English Channel and how someone can be sucked up in a hurricane and thrown back on to the groud and survive. I think the show will be something different to watch. It permires Sunday on the Discovery Channel.
